haven't actively done much with akai since mid april..we were on big island when i packed up and moved to oahu..after a couple of weeks on oahu i went to the mainland..for a month...haven't been home much. home has been out of a suitcase.
fires still burn quietly on slow heat so long as you throw a log on it. i have no intention of letting akai go under water while i pursue nursing again. i KNOW there can be balance. it's about managing akai the way it should be run..making some cuts..maybe not offering full product line anymore, maybe cutting back on custom orders, maybe cutting back on marketing, maybe offering for sale only what is available and made. making small cuts so that it is streamlined but still on low heat.
i have to take some time to explore nursing again..it's my other profession. i can't begin to relate to you how much i have loved reading medical articles again or achieving certificates. art must be balanced with business and skill/trade/profession.
we are looking at a year with a lot of change coming up...another relocation, a trip to costa rica perhaps, going back to nursing work, going back to nursing school, but the quiet fire that has been on low heat is still there. quiet fires tend to rebuild and with the right breath of wind, blaze even higher
the blaze will be about a smarter business for akai..no longer a convenience store of everything on the table and a fast paced chaos. more meditative, thought out, with a plan for future. bellydance, you are my love. i have another love too that will require some work and time. but i love movement and fluttering silk..so dance, you will always have me
