dancers are gonna shoot me

today i went to the recycle area near town, there are a bunch of tents set up and it's sort of a good will area. you can donate household items and/or purchase things for pretty cheap. i have yet to find a treasure there but i dont visit very often because it's next door to the humane society and that place just haunts me.

instead of ironing and photographing a bunch of items, i took them down to the area. in the boxes were veils that were lightly used by me over the years, silk skirts i had never completed and just needed a hemming, a collection of wrap skirts that i just can't bring myself to hang on a mannequin and photograph, bellydance skirts with a few beads missing but otherwise ok, a couple handfuls of bellydance vhs tapes, cds, many pairs of bellydance gloves, metal belts, jinglies, hair falls, ..

as i'm walking in with the boxes i've realized the evils of consumerism. dont worry i'm not going to stop shopping. but i really examined how many things i bought that i really didnt need. or how many projects i started and didnt finish

am i'm just too weary to take pics, post them on ebay and banter with customers about it

so i donated it all to good will.

there were two women there who were literally pulling things out of the boxes as i was setting them down. JEWELS. i dont think either of them were dancers but they each got a vhs tape and so i might have stirred something lol. they were so HAPPY to have those items. it felt really good. i think they will really appreciate the freebies.

and it freed up an entire afternoon for me to spend with my baby boy..

there's more. i may list a bit of it on ebay. or i may forego the task of photo'ing everything and sizing it (gawwwd i hate tape measures) and let some other lady find a jewel
